JOHN Masefield's wonderful poem "Sea-Fever" conjures up pictures of tall masted ships breasting white topped waves on distant seas … but it will be brought to life later this year when the Tall Ships Race makes a stop-off at Greenock.

A terrific day out for all the family - The Tall Ships Races 9th - 12th July 2011 - Greenock is a free event with something for everyone! The event site will be open from 11am until 11.30pm daily on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday the Parade of Sail, will start at 1pm.

From music acts and dance troops to street theatre and children's activities, Greenock will come alive with colour and carnival fun including a headline concert by Scots band Deacon Blue.
